Last week, we reported that owing to an HDTV carriage dispute between Sinclair Broadcasting and Comcast , viewers in a number of markets, including Sinclair's home town of Baltimore, would not be able to receive the Super Bowl in HD via cable. According to a Sinclair press release dated Feb. 4, Sinclair and Comcast reached an agreement in principle that permits Comcast to carry the signals of Fox DTV stations that Sinclair owns or programs in six markets. Carriage of the Fox DTV signals was to begin immediately in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Tenn., Richmond, Va. Charleston, S.C., and Paducah, Ky., permitting HD Super Bowl viewing in those markets.
