FEMA Seeks Next-Gen EAS Contractors
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is looking for vendors to help implement the future generation version of EAS.

FEMA recently published a request for information for implementing the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) Dec. 10.

IPAWS will use mobile media — such as cell phones, pagers, computers and other personal communications devices — to warn people through live or pre-recorded audio, video and text messages in multiple languages and with support for American Sign Language and Braille.

Responses are due by Jan. 30, 2009.
