WASHINGTON: A total of 118 TV stations in 85 markets will participate in the FCC’s analog nightlight program. The commission announced yesterday the stations that would continue operating analog transmitters with limited programming, for up to 30 days after today’s DTV transition deadline. The FCC’s analog nightlight order encouraged stations in markets with high over-the-air reliance to continue providing emergency information and DTV transition notifications on the analog channel for up to a month following the statutory end date for analog broadcasting.

The revised list includes 46 stations that weren’t on a previous one issued in late May. Another six stations have been dropped, and two that were inadvertently omitted were included. Several markets have multiple stations that will continue broadcasting limited analog service, including Albuquerque, N.M., Orlando, Fla.; Los Angeles, and Boston.
