FCC Dismisses Old, Unchanged AM, FM Apps
The Media Bureau of the FCC has dismissed nearly 130 old AM and FM applications that were never updated.
This past October, the FCC announced it had new forms relating to the buying and selling of stations and CP applications that coincided with the new radio market definition. The deadline to update applications on the old Forms 301, 314 and 315 was Nov. 8, 2004.
The Media Bureau then dismissed several dozen un-amended applications and established a December deadline for filing changes to pending commercial radio station applications filed prior to the effective date of the June 2002 versions of these forms. Each applicant had to demonstrate compliance with the new local radio ownership rules or request a waiver.
No amendments were received for the applications dismissed this week.
