Evolutions Makes £1 million Investment
Soho facility Evolutions has invested £1 million in new equipment from Avid, FilmLight and Digidesign. The investment is part of an upgrade and expansion project being undertaken by the company.

Among the equipment being installed by Evolutions is a 32Tb Avid Unity ISIS system, a mixture of 25 Media Composer Nitris DX and Symphony Nitris DX systems from Avid and FilmLight's Baselight HD system for a new grading suite at the Great Pulteney Street site. Evolutions is also upgrading its existing Baselight Four which will be used on a range of long-form programmes including Top Gear, F-Word and The Apprentice.

Part of this investment includes the centralisation of the company's machine room into the Great Pulteney Street site using a dark fibre link to connect Evolutions' five sites.

The facility's audio department has taken delivery of a Digidesign ICON console which will form the basis of a new flagship 5.1 dubbing theatre. The console is powered by Pro Tools and was sold to Evolutions by Soho based Digidesign reseller Scrub.
