Event on Next-Gen EAS Set for May
What will EAS look like in a couple of years?

Industry biggies will get together to talk about that next month. The Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau of the FCC plans to host a summit on EAS on May 19.

The subject of the meeting is promoting an effective emergency alert system “on the road to a next-generation EAS.” The event will be held at the commission.

In line with the FCC’s Second Report and Order on EAS released last July, the summit will focus on the state of the nation’s EAS and what is needed to transition to a better alert and warning system.

The agency will release additional information and an agenda shortly.
