Emmis Radio President Steps Down
Emmis Communications Corporation Radio Division President Doyle Rose has resigned effective March 1, 2002. Succeeding Rose will be long-time colleague, EVP/Programming Rick Cummings.
"This is a move we have been talking about for a long time internally, but after nearly 20 years and now with a solid team in place, the time was right," said Rose, who credited Emmis Chairman/CEO Jeff Smulyan for providing him with "a great opportunity."
Rose started with Emmis in 1982 and has served as President of Emmis Radio since 1988. Rose' contract had expired in February of this year; he had agreed to stay on another year to finish Emmis' latest acquisitions and assist in the transition of leadership in the Radio Division.
