DNF Adds Download Function to Playout System
DNF Controls has created a feature that enables playlist download from a traffic or automation system to the company's 3040P Playlist Playout System.

Operators can download information and play out playlists directly from the 3040P or use the 3040P to provide backup for the on-air automation system. It also provides improved security against loss of critical spot playout.

The unit can be configured to mirror the automation system by continuously playing clips in the background on a backup video server, or it can control the primary video server playout channel in the event of an on-air automation failure.

The system consists of DNF's ST400 controller with Playlist software. It controls one playlist per channel on up to four channels, and each playlist can contain 2,000 elements. The controller features a review channel and a one-source VTR channel. The download option includes a Microsoft Windows PC application. Playlist downloads can be initiated from the 3040P or from a computer during playout, and lists can be appended at any time.
