Discovery HD Theater Converts IMAX to HDTV
Discovery HD Theater, Discovery Network's new HDTV channel, completed the first-ever telecine transfer of three IMAX 15/70 films to HDTV.

The three films, "Africa's Elephant Kingdom," "The Human Body" and "Wildfire" were originally filmed in the 15/70 format (15 perforations, 70mm), which is three times larger than a standard 70mm film. The network will telecast the three features this fall in 1080i format.

Hollywood-based Crest National transferred "Africa's Elephant Kingdom" and "The Human Body" into hi-def. ""Wildfire" was transferred from a 35mm copy of the film by Crawford Communications in Atlanta.
