Digital Rapids Creating ID System for YouTube
Workflow solutions provider Digital Rapids recently announced their cooperative effort with YouTube to develop the Content ID system. The system, targeted at high-profile content owners, is designed to protect content while removing steps from the publishing process.
“Fingerprint” reference files are generated automatically during encoding or transcoding and uploaded to YouTube’s Content ID repository, where they are compared against videos uploaded by other users to identify true ownership rights. These files will greatly reduce the time involved in tracking, blocking or monetizing uploaded copies.
Content ID support will be integrated into future versions of Digital Rapids’ StreamZ and StreamZHD encoding systems and Transcode Manager transcoding software.
