Server and storage provider Omneon Inc. has tapped two-decade sales veteran Denis Maynard as senior vice president of worldwide sales.

Maynard brings more than two decades of senior sales experience to Omneon, and in his new position he will provide leadership in the management of the company's global sales and systems engineering efforts.

Prior to joining Omneon, Maynard spent seven years at QLogic, a supplier of high-performance network infrastructure solutions. Maynard earlier spent nearly nine years in senior management positions at Cisco Systems, most recently as director of worldwide field operations. From 1990 to 1993, Maynard served as western regional sales manager for Banyan Systems, a pioneer and leader in providing open, standards-based network operating systems for enterprise networks.

Maynard is based at Omneon headquarters in Sunnyvale, Calif.
