Clear Channel Cuts 'The Regular Guys'
"The Regular Guys" have become the second batch of Clear Channel jocks to be let go for indecency. As we reported earlier, the company pulled the show and suspended jocks Larry Wachs and Eric Von Haessler from Atlanta's 96rock after a March 19 incident. The duo was recording an interview with a porn star that they planned to air backwards. A mic was left open and apparently graphic sexual content accidentally aired live underneath a commercial on their show.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quotes Clear Channel Regional VP Pat McDonnell as saying "In line with our zero tolerance policy and after conducting a thorough investigation of a March 19th broadcast on WKLS(FM), we have decided we will no longer broadcast the 'The Regular Guys.'"
Earlier, Clear Channel let go "Bubba the Love Sponge" Todd Clem for indecency and most recently pulled Infinity's Howard Stern off the 6 Clear Channel affiliates that were airing the program.
