CES2008: Syntax-Brillian Showcases 120 Hz, 1080p HD
Syntax-Brillian is showing its new range of Olevia brand LCD HD products this week featuring enhancements which combine its proprietary 120 Hz motion estimation/motion compensation (ME/MC) technology with 1080p resolution. The new lineup from the Tempe, Ariz.-based firm also includes different architectural design schemes and the option of firmware upgrades via USB.
The Olevia booth is displaying 1080p HD monitors in 42-, 47-, 52-, 55- and 65-inch models. Syntax-Brillian said the 120 Hz ME/MC post-processor technology produces clearer HD motion images by reducing the blur of image motion.
In late 2006, Syntax-Brillian opened a new production facility in Ontario, Calif., to produce its Olevia-brand HD sets for distribution throughout the United States and Canada. According to Syntax-Brillian, its production capacity for that plant eventually will exceed 200,000 (LCD and LCoS) units annually.
