Career Day Offers New Opportunities
Besides connecting recruiters and jobseekers, the NAB Radio Show’s annual Career Day will offer participants insight into getting started on the road to a career in broadcasting.

Today’s Career Day, 9 a.m.–2 p.m., is organized by the NAB Education Foundation (NABEF), the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) and the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA).

The event begins with “Speed Mentoring,” 9–10:30 a.m., which offers a series of fast-paced, eight-minute advice sessions, which give attendees the opportunity to speak with top professionals on how to better reach career goals.

This portion of the program is hosted by the Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio Group (MIW) and American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT).

The session “Measuring a Successful Career,” 10–11 a.m., takes a look at how dramatic the changes in lifestyle, audience makeup and mobility have been to the radio industry, presented by Jenny Tsao and Carrie Stein of Arbitron Inc.; and Chase Rupe of Emmis Austin Radio.

The Career Fair, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., features recruiters in search of qualified candidates. Opportunities are available in sales, news, production and engineering.
