Broadcom Demonstrates DTV Products at CES
Broadcom Corporation announced a new dual-channel AVC/VC-1/MPEG-2 video decoder system-on-a-chip for use in media center products. In addition to supporting multiple compression schemes, it has integrated Ethernet and USB 2.0 peripheral interfaces and an integrated content security processor that provides end-to-end security and digital rights management. This is an important feature, as the BCM7400 also includes PVR capability with the ability to simultaneously record multiple channels.

To complete the media center, the BCM7400 can be combined with one of Broadcom's cable set-top box solutions and/or its BCM3417 ATSC demodulator for over-the-air DTV and the BCM4500 DVB-S demodulator for digital satellite reception.
