EMCEE Awarded Contracts for Military UHF/VHF Transmitters
You may have read about the U.S. military broadcasting TV to viewers in areas of conflict, in some cases broadcasting from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). EMCEE Communications has been awarded two military contracts to design and manufacture these unique UHF and VHF TV transmitters for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
Under one contract, EMCEE will modify an existing VHF transmitter design and integrate it to work as the broadcast equipment payload for UAV operations. The second contract is for portable 1 kW UHF and VHF, multistandard TV transmitters designed for rapid deployment. Frequency and TV broadcast standard can be changed instantly from the front panel.
Although EMCEE been in the TV broadcast business for over 40 years, this is the first news I've seen from the company since its acquisition by Wireless Acquisition LLC in 2003. More information in available in the press release
