Landmark Explores Station Sales
Landmark Communications of Norfolk, Va., said it intends to sell its TV stations in Las Vegas and Nashville, Tenn. No sale price was disclosed for the stations, KLAS, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, and WTVF, the CBS affiliate in Nashville.
Privately owned Landmark also owns The Weather Channel, which was floated for sale in early January. Analysts estimated the ubiquitous franchise could bring as much as $5 billion.
In addition to the three TV properties, Landmark owns more than 100 newspapers across the country. The company has engaged Lehman Brothers to determine a price for the stations.
