Black Friday: Some Walmart HD Deals Expire Early
Walmart mailed out its Black Friday fliers last weekend and set aside the ads’ coveted front and back covers for its HD sales. Along with its typical guarantee that “our stores will match the price of any local competitor’s printed ad for an identical product,” Walmart, as expected, is offering steep discounts on several HD products—although some deals only apply until 11 a.m. on Black Friday, Nov. 28. (Doors open at 5 a.m.)

However, the retailer is allowing prices to remain in effect for several HD items through both Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29. HD Walmart specials include:

*      Samsung 46-inch LCD 1080p for $1, 098
*      Samsung 50-inch 720p plasma set for $798
*     Samsung 42-inch plasma 720p for $698
*     Polaroid 42-inch Polaroid 1080p for $598
*     Emerson 32-inch LCD 720p for $388
*     Samsung Sansui 19-inch LCD 720p for $178
*     Magnavox Blu-ray player for $128

The world’s largest retailer, Walmart also is advertising assorted Blu-ray titles such as “Iron man” and “Kung Fu Panda” for $15 each (standard DVD versions of the same titles are $9), along with a list of about 60 other standard DVD movies for $2 each. Walmart (which apparently has dropped the hyphen from its brand name) says some deals are good “while supplies last” at its individual outlets.
