Harris Delivers 100 Nexios in Six Weeks
Harris Corp. said 100 of its latest Nexio servers were delivered within six weeks of the product becoming available. Most recent deliveries were made to customers in Germany, Japan and Canada, and “two major television networks in the United States,” according to the Harris broadcast division folks in Cincinnatti.

The Nexio AMP server combines high levels of I/O, data pathway and storage redundancy with integrated software codec support and automatic up/down/cross conversion. Astra APS in Germany, the American Forces Network, Toyama Cable TV in Japan, Fox Sports Houston, Argentina’s Canal 9 in and ExpressVu in Canada all have become Nexio AMP customers.

The inaugural Nexio AMP products include the NX3601HDI media platform with integrated storage and the NX3601HDX media platform for the Nexio storage area network. Both feature 2- and 3-channel HD/SD mixed resolution modes, 4- or 6-channel SD modes, and support for a range SD and HD codecs, including XDCAM HD and DVCPRO HD.
