AVIT Spreads With 2mtv
AVIT-Systems has boosted its Scandinavian presence with the recent acquisition of Norwegian company 2mtv media products.

"The goal is clear-cut — we want to be the number one supplier on the Scandinavian market within high-end solutions for audio, video, infrastructure and system integration," said AVIT-Systems Managing Director Claus Bech Espensen.

Together, the companies will generate a turnover in excess of 100 million Danish krone. Brands handled by AVIT-Systems include Dalet and APT. 2mtv, with offices in Oslo and Stavanger, specializes in technology sales to the Norwegian broadcast and video industry.

"2mtv has reached a point where it is size that sets the premises for getting or winning large installations and contracts — that is why we saw this partnership as an interesting opportunity for further growth for our company," said 2mtv board member Kjell Roar Johnsen, who will be the new managing director of the Norwegian department of AVIT-Systems.

According to Bech Espensen, individual markets in Denmark, Norway and Sweden are smaller than other European markets and are often viewed as one. "The producers are looking for a system integrator that can handle the job in all of Scandinavia. That is what we are ready to offer with the purchase of 2mtv," he said.
