ATEME Launches Titan Transcoding System at IBC Show
ATEME, a provider of H.264 video compression systems, introduced its “Titan” turnkey solution for large scale transcoding throughput and real-time processing at the IBC Show.

Leveraged from the company’s widely deployed KFE 2 encoding system, Titan is a complete file-based processing solution. From any SD/HD mezzanine file, Titan can produce, faster than real time, a number of pristine video quality versions simultaneously for delivery of content to TV, mobile and Internet devices, (i.e. a 2-hour long HD movie can be encoded in just 10 minutes via Titan).

“Broadcasters and operators are looking for ways to maximize the value of their content and are therefore turning to multi-screen strategies,” said Remi Beaudouin, Product Marketing Manager for Content & Streaming solutions at ATEME. “The time taken for repurposing is crucial as fast turnaround is the key to succeed in monetizing their content. Titan streamlines the process to make this strategic move possible, while guaranteeing lowered CAPEX and OPEX.”

By dramatically reducing transcoding time and by featuring a dense and scalable design, the company says Titan has the additional benefits of a smaller file-based processing farm footprint, as well as a reduced environmental footprint with lower power consumption.

Titan is based on ATEME’s own encoders and muxers, which have been developed using the company’s extensive knowledge of H.264 encoding systems.
