APT Wins 'Major' Consumer Electronics Deal
Audio Processing Technology said it has extended its relationship with South Korean firm Open Solution Ltd. It signed an additional exclusive licensing agreement for its Enhanced 16-, 20- and 24-bit algorithms for wireless semiconductor applications.
The organizations signed the original deal last year. Open Solution is a semiconductor company specializing in wireless 2.4 GHz wireless audio technology for the consumer electronics market.
APT, which is also a supplier of codecs to the broadcast marketplace, called the extension a "major achievement ... one that is likely to generate healthy royalty revenue when production of consumer electronics products incorporating the chips begins."
