ALERT FM Transmits NOAA, FEMA Alerts
The Global Security Systems ALERT FM system is being used to transmit National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather alerts and Federal Emergency Management Agency Presidential alerts.

The system uses commercial radio broadcast RDS subcarrier signals to carry targeted alert messages from government agencies and other authorities before, during and after a crisis,” according to the company. It is compatible with the current Emergency Alert System (EAS) and NOAA Weather Radio services.

According to GSS, The Mississippi Office of Homeland Security, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, and the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency each use ALERT FM technology. ALERT FM also has the support of stations in Mississippi and Alabama, and is moving into Tennessee, Louisiana and Florida.
