A&E Taps Front Porch Digital for Archiving
A&E Television Networks recently selected
Front Porch Digital (FPD) to provide its DIVArchive system to manage video archive content.
FPD will also equip A&E with its BitScream transcoding technology to generate WM9 files for viewing using a browser and file formats for digital playout. FPD professional services division will handle the integration into A&E's automation technology and participate in further expansion.
DIVArchive (distribution intelligent versatile archive) is a middleware tool that allows for interoperability between large digital media storage devices, video servers, editing systems and digital media workflow applications.
The first phase of the archiving process will be to plan out the archiving of A&E programming and restoring programs to broadcast servers for playout.
