Broadcast RF makes the Link in Dubai

12.02.2008

Link Research's Link 1103 XP transmitters have been deployed by Broadcast RF for its aerial coverage of the fireworks display that marked the opening of Atlantis resort on Dubai's Palm Jumeirah island.

Using two helicopters, each equipped with Link 1103 XP transmitters and four-way diversity, operating with a receive site on the ground, in front of the Hotel.

The set up was part of a 20-camera operation to cover the event. Microwave signals sent via the Link transmitters were received by the microwave receive farm on the ground, which was then relayed via fibre back to the portable production unit.

Chris Brandrick, sales manager for Broadcast RF commented: "We undertake a lot of projects in the Middle East and we regularly work with helicopters. The ability to have four-way diversity on the ground certainly helps us to receive the helicopter signal from every angle possible."
