ModSci’s PROceiver Makes its On-Air Debut

11.14.2008

Modulation Sciences is now shipping its Digital PROceiver IFB field system, which made its on-air debut in October at KWQC in Davenport, Iowa.

“Installation went smoothly”, said Doug Bierman, Chief Engineer at KWQC, “it is quite simple to set-up and install, we were installed and live in two trucks in just a day. The talent has been pleased with it. We used our Digital PROceivers on Election Day and they performed perfectly.” Having been a PRO Channel user, Doug concludes by saying that it is much cleaner than the analog PROs, “it is so quiet that you have to check to make sure it is on.”

Announced at this year’s NAB Show, MSI’s Digital PROceiver is a specialized ATSC-compatible audio product that delivers low-latency audio signals over the DTV broadcast channel. It’s designed to reside in the ENG vehicle connected to a standard broadcast receive antenna. It provides two independent audio outputs so one receiver delivers two IFBs. The 1RU, half-rack-wide product runs off vehicle power and provides two balanced analog audio outputs.
