Guardian Films has chosen Roland Systems Groups’ Edirol F-1
video field recorder to capture U.S.
presidential election footage for Guardian Media. Guardian Films, a Washington
D.C.-based company, is the exclusive contractor for Guardian Media, a print and
online news service based in the United Kingdom.
Starting Friday, Oct. 10, Guardian Films and host Mark
Moran will travel across the United States
starting in Los Angeles and ending in Washington on Election
Day, Nov. 4. Guardian Films will be interviewing Americans and getting opinions
and feedback on the issues that surround this historic presidential election.
Guardian Films will produce 15 minutes of edited content
daily that will be uploaded and streamed from its Web site. Three editors will
be producing the content captured on the Edirol F-1 field recorders using Mac
Book Pro laptops and the software programs Clipwrap, Final Cut Pro and Episode
Pro.
Guardian Films said it selected the Edirol F-1 video field
recorders based on its features, which include removable hard drives, two
additional channels of uncompressed audio, field viewing capabilities, and
reliable shock resistant floating hard drives. Additional features include multiple
power supply options, remote control via LAN, on-site review of clips and
unlimited file size. The Edirol F-1’s are capturing from Sony V-1U and Z-1U HDV
cameras.
