10.09.2008

SAMMA Robot
Crawford Media Management, a division of Crawford Communications in Atlanta, has purchased a second Betacam tape robot from SAMMA Systems, a provider of media migration systems for professional broadcast and production. In addition to the two SAMMA robots, Crawford also has four SAMMA Solo videotape-to-digital file migration systems.

The new robot is completely self-contained and provides five simultaneous tape sources. It can encode up to three files per tape. The robot supports numerous formats including lossless JPEG2000, MPEG-2, Windows Media, H.264 and On2. Files may be wrapped as MXF, QuickTime or Flash.

Crawford launched its media management division in 2007 and uses the SAMMA products to help its clients digitize legacy media.

"Based on our success over the last year with SAMMA's platform, we have made an aggressive expansion of our migration capabilities by purchasing two robots this year," says Jesse Crawford, CEO of Crawford Communications. "These SAMMA Systems meet the challenge of migrating large collections, and seeing the benefit to our clients confirms our choice of this product."
