WideOrbit Widens Holdings

Automation systems developer WideOrbit is acquiring again, picking up a traffic software vendor, the Orion Business Systems assets of VCI Solutions.

Those products handle duties such as ad inventory, sales, accounting, billing, business analytics and projections. WideOrbit acquired Google’s radio automation business last year.

Eric R. Mathewson, founder and CEO of WideOrbit, called this a chance to strengthen WideOrbit’s position and “provide us with an even greater opportunity to reinvest more in our core products and services.”

The cost of the acquisition was not specified. The deal is expected to conclude by Nov. 1.
