'From Rock to Jock': Holliday's Story
Radio sports personality Johnny Holliday tells his story in a new book. Holliday hit the airwaves as a top-40 DJ at Cleveland's WHK(AM) in 1959, but his voice is familiar today to listeners of ABC Radio Networks, where he has done daily sports reports and covered the Olympics.
He is also a veteran play-by-play and publish address announcer, who now handles University of Maryland football and basketball games. Among the many stories he relates is a small plane crash that he survived in 1975. "Johnny Holliday: From Rock to Jock" is co-authored by Stephen Moore and published by Sports Publishing LLC. Cover price: $22.95.
