The Rockefeller Center Observation Deck has reopened after 20 years.
"Top of the Rock" is the trademarked name of Rockefeller Center's renovated observation deck (and "multimedia visitor experience") in New York.
Features of the tourist attraction include a film and video presentation about the history of Rockefeller Center, and a redesigned and rejuvenated observatory, closed since 1986. Visitors will see the city from viewing rooms and decks on the 67th through 70th floors.
A feature in the multimedia presentation called "The Beam Walk" includes a "through-the-floor projection" that lets guests walk across a steel beam and seem to look down through the building's framework, thanks to a film loop running below.
Rockefeller Center's radio connections are legendary, including its role as the long-time home of RCA, owner of the NBC Radio Network, and of radio broadcasts from the Rainbow Room and Studio 8H (where "Saturday Night Live" is now produced).
