Fox News Channel has selected the Streambox Inc. newsgathering solutions for facilitating real-time broadcasts from field reporters to the network’s headquarters in New York City.

Fox News Channel is deploying portable encoders, as well as rackmount video transport systems, for delivery of live video from the world’s hotspots via satellite and T1 networks

.

With this new deployment, Fox News Channel crews can capture and deliver live video reports from the field with nothing more than a camera, a Streambox portable encoder, and a satellite or other IP network connection, according to Seattle-based Streambox. The equipment will also be utilized for store-and-forward video feeds.
