"LPFM: The People's Choice," a documentary set to premiere on NBC-TV stations Sept. 26, chronicles the history of LPFM.
It includes interviews with former FCC Chairman Bill Kennard, Sen. John McCain and Rep Ed Markey, LPFM advocates and former FCC Commissioner Gloria Tristani, who is now working with the United Church of Christ Office of Communication. The church produced the program as part of its efforts to get McCain's bill to drop third-adjacent channel protections to allow more LPFMs on the air passed in Congress.
