Allbritton Communications has reportedly made some major staff cuts, including on-air talent, at its stations in Washington, D.C., and Little Rock, Ark.

The Washington Post reported Saturday that the company had laid off about 26 staffers, including well-known local reporters. Allbritton owns ABC’s affiliate WJLA (Channel 7) in the nation’s capital, plus News Channel 8.

Allbritton has been working hard to leverage digital content across the company’s multiple platforms, as described in TV Technology magazine here.

Allbritton also eliminated about 20 staffers at KATV in Little Rock, Ark., according to arkansasbusiness.com.
